ONE More Month!

I have an amazing dog breeder. Have I ever said that? She's absolutely wonderful.

When I sent my deposit to her, it was for the upcoming litter. However, I fell in love with a pup from the 4-week-old litter she has right now. She told me WEEKS ago that I could have a pup from that litter if I wanted, but I didn't want to take advantage of her kindness.

In the end, I had to take her up on it.

Up until today, he was known as Red Collar Male (or just Red Collar), but from now on he'll be known as Caddo (pronounced ca like cat and doh like... Doughnut, lol).

The Caddo people were a Native American tribe that lived along a certain river in Arkansas. They were removed from their land by the government and relocated to Oklahoma, as many tribes were. They still reside in Oklahoma, but the river they lived so close to was renamed for them and only flows within the state of Arkansas.

Since Jarrett and I are moving out of our home state because of the Navy, we wanted to name our pooch after something outdoorsy and Arkansas-ish. We are pretty darn proud to be from the Natural State.

As I've stated in multiple posts in the past, I have every intention of training Caddo to do a lot of cool junk, but first and foremost, he will be a service dog and will help battle my ever-worsening anxiety disorder.

He'll be able to come home April 22nd, which is just a couple of days after my birthday! ONE month from now to be exact...

Here's a picture of him! I'm blown away by how handsome he is every time I see this picture! (Remember, he's the one with the red ribbon.)
