A Few New Things

So, as I said, I’d be back when I had something worth writing about. I guess I do now.
Last weekend I put in my 2-weeks at the bar that I worked at this summer. My job as a substitute teacher, of course, begins when the new school years starts and working at a bar, getting off at between 2 AM and 3 AM, and then needing to be up at 6:30 AM to be at school by 7:30 AM just… Isn’t working at all. My sleep schedule is pretty much non-existent. I can’t ever seem to actually even be tired until at least 4 AM, but my son wakes up around 9 AM, so I’m exhausted constantly.
Needless to say, I’ve been looking for a decent part-time job that doesn’t revolve around tips.
I found something even better.
As a substitute teacher, I make a decent amount of money and get paid weekly, so I make even more since not as much as taken out for taxes. I needed a part-time job to be able to make at least $15 an hour so we can have extra whatever we feel like. That’s how much Jarrett makes, so we’d totally be golden.
Today, however, my mom called me and let me know that an old family friend had posted on social media that she was looking for a caregiver for her adult son who has cerebral palsy. The reason the woman is “an old family friend” is because my mom worked with the aforementioned son when I was a little kid. He was seventeen and I was eight when she got hired.
I called and was nearly hired on the spot.
This job is literally a full-time position but only spans the weekend and every other Monday. I’ll make about $10 an hour, but I’ll work enough to make overtime every other weekend and I’ll make $15 on those days. I’ll be making enough money that I won’t have to sub if I don’t want to.
There you go, there was cool thing number 1.
Another thing is that I found a pretty cool photo editing program. Since my photography is pretty darn important to me, I’m rather stoked about this. I only have about 60% hang of it right now, but I think that I’m getting better the more I play with it.
That is no where near as important as the new job, but it’s still pretty awesome.
Also, we’re going to the recruiter’s office Monday afternoon so Jarrett can finish his Navy paperwork. I am SO excited!
There isn’t much else to report right about now, so… As always, I’ll submit again when more fun stuff happens!
Thank you so much for reading!
