Life Changers

So, 2 days after my last post, the contractions started.

Now, don’t think that the previous statement means that Bodhi was born 2 days later. He wasn’t. Nope.

Bodhi was born 8 days after my last post. I was technically in “pre-labor” for DAYS and it was MISERABLE, but I dealt. I’m definitely one of those chicks.

HOWEVER, the 19th is a whole different story. Everyone keeps saying the whole, “No, really, you did AMAZING,” thing, but let me tell you… I don’t feel like I did “amazing” at all.

It all started at 5:30 AM, but, of course, I waited until 11:00 AM to actually go to the I hospital. I was there for about 5 hours.

It didn’t actually matter. Even though I was having contractions about 5-7 minutes apart, I was only dilated to a 3. They couldn’t admit me until I was at a 4. They told me that if I was comfortable enough, that I could go home. I didn’t see any point in staying, so I left.

That was a terrible idea.

The moment I got into the car, the contractions turned into HELL. I went home anyway, thinking I could handle it.

I was wrong.

I was back at the hospital in less than an hour and I was dilated to a 6. Go me.

I was there, in labor for 5 hours before the “real” process started.

After only pushing for about 30 minutes, Bodhi was born at nearly midnight.

He was absolutely perfect then and still is now. He looks ridiculously like his father, but I like that. I pretty much cloned my favorite person. Just about 18 hours of labor was pretty darn worth it.

Here are some photos.
